At one point or another in life we start to disconnect from ourselves and end up feeling lost or unsure of what our next steps in life are. Sometimes.. most times.. the best thing someone can do during these points in life is to completely press pause, slow down and go on a vacation or retreat as a way to reset life. Retreats are relaxing and rejuvenating not only to the mind but the body as well. You begin to come out of your day to day schedule and through a yoga retreat — begin to incorporate more self-care into your life.

Look, you can only go at 100 miles an hour/ 7 days a week/ with little to no rest in between your responsibilities for so long before coming to a complete stop and burn out. A soulful getaway is the perfect way to re-energize your body, mind and soul while connecting back to your inner self.

Yoga retreats take you away from the hustle and bustle of life and give you the opportunity to spend time with YOU! You never regret going on a yoga retreat – I can tell you that much… which is why we want to share with you FIVE reasons why you deserve to go on a yoga retreat as soon as possible!

1.You get to JUST BE.

When we are faced with having to put on different hats for prolonged periods of time we tend to lose who we are at our core. Taking care of yourself is so important in life as is the ability to love yourself unconditionally throughout highs and lows, ups and downs. As we get caught up in the life around us we often times forget to take out time for Self Care. With the help of a yoga retreat you can finally devote time to yourself, your needs, your mental and physical health. You can finally let go and be the You you always craved to be!

A nourishing escape from the outside world, a relaxing yoga retreat or getaway is a sure way to bring all of your attention towards self-discovery, self-acceptance, self-exploration and most importantly self-compassion!

No family obligations to tend to, no work, noTHING to do… nowhere to go… no one to be but just YOU.

2. You grow into your self-care practice.

Let’s face it, we were never taught how to take care of ourselves. We were never taught how to put ourselves first. We’ve always put others before us and in return we are left feeling empty, tired, maybe even resentful at times. You’ll notice right away that when you embark on a yoga retreat of any kind that the intention behind coming together for a weekend getaway is so that we can learn how to take care of ourselves! It’ll become such a routine and habit to wake up, move your body, eat nourishing meals throughout the day, rest as needed, meditate and breathe, that you’ll begin to wonder why you never implemented this into your daily life before!

3. You make new friends and enjoy new experiences.

A yoga retreat is packed with a lot of fun as well. It gives you a chance to meet new like-minded people and explore new places. We all have an inner wanderer within us and going on a yoga retreat adventure will be an all encompassing exploration of cultivating friendships, connection, serenity and bliss!

4. You adapt into a Healthier Lifestyle!

Yoga is a disciplinary practice and at a yoga retreat or at yoga teacher training, the practitioners learn to live a disciplined and a better quality life. At yoga retreat, you do all the work on time and as per schedule from eating meals to sleeping to exercising, to relaxing, or to doing other activities. These good habits we tend to indulge in our normal lives and make our lifestyle and living better and healthier.

In today’s time, most of the health issues we face are lifestyle-based. On a yoga retreat you change your lifestyle for those days or weeks you are on a goodness getaway as you learn to eat mindfully, while indulging in eating a vegetarian, vegan and overall high nutrition diet for better health. Not only that, but you’ll also detox from social media, your electronic devices and dive deeper into mindful living – day after day.

5. You can let go and start anew.

A yoga retreat is not only about rejuvenation, it is also the opportunity to have a soulful get away from your daily life, work, family, deadlines, and responsibilities. During yoga retreats you will notice a clearer mind, balanced emotions, and overall improved wellbeing!

You learn the art of living in the present moment. When you unwind and reset, by staying away from your home, you start appreciating and embracing your relationships. Not only this, yoga retreats give you a new perspective on life and new eyes to see the world. You gain a more positive outlook and start seeing the good in people and surroundings. With this awareness and realization, you develop the ability to let go of the past and kick-start your life!

Experience the inner-tranquility that you deserve. It’s time you take your wellbeing and health back into your own hands and we believe a yoga retreat can be that positive reset you have been looking for!

We would love to invite you to a Beach Relaxation Retreat at the healing beach of Siesta Key coming this July. From the 12th to the 15th experience all of the greatness touched on above and so much more.

Namaste.

Ever struggled in choosing between chiropractic care and massage therapy? Well, you don’t have to choose just one anymore! Chiropractic care and massage can help speed up the recovery process from sore muscles to other, more drastic medical issues. There have been studies shown that people have found relief from insomnia, back pain, arthritis, anxiety, soreness, fatigue and more just from combining these two powerful treatments.

Chiropractors are a specialized medical professional that use hands-on therapy to align the musculoskeletal system of the body to promote pain relief, healing, and overall wellness.

Chiropractors pay particular attention to the proper alignment of the vertebrae of the spine, though the bones, muscles, and connective tissues of other areas are also important to their practice.

Massage therapy is one of the most popular therapies as it not only feels amazing, it works wonders!

Traditionally, massage has been used to treat muscular pain and injuries, strain or injury to the soft tissues, such as those that arise from repetitive strain or spending too much time sitting in an office.

However, the benefits of massage therapy have become increasingly recognized for a wide range of other conditions as well. Studies have shown that massage therapy has been able to treat health conditions such as anxiety, high blood pressure, insomnia, and digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome.

Both chiropractic care and massage therapy have excellent outcomes for wellness when it comes to both mental health and wellbeing as well as pain and stress relief.

However, the aims of the therapies are different. While chiropractic seeks to promote and maintain proper alignment of the bones of the spine and surrounding tissues as well as other areas of the body, massage therapy focuses on releasing tension from the muscles and encouraging deep relaxation. It really is the best of both worlds!

There are a couple of ways that massage therapy and chiropractic care can be used together.

Here in Altamonte Springs, we have two great places for you to receive both chiropractic care AND massage! At Heal. we have highly trained massage therapists that will cater to your specific and individual needs on a case by case basis. We refer many of our clients to Dr. Christina Cuellar over at Revival Chiropractic in Altamonte Springs as well!

Dr. Cuellar uses a gentle approach to chiropractic care where you won’t experience your neck being turned forcefully or any cracking of bones. She uses a specific approach that provides such great results to not only your physical health… but also your mental and emotional health.

The biggest reason in why we believe chiropractic care and massage therapy work so powerfully together is due to the effect it has on the nervous system. Studies have shown that your body must be in the right environment for healing, meaning that if you are constantly in “fight or flight” mode – your body cannot heal in this state.

Massage and chiropractic will help to ground your nervous system into the parasympathetic nervous system also known as the “rest and digest” mode.

This is where healing can take place.

If you’re ready to take your life back into your own hands and feel your best – because you deserve to live a healthy life – then don’t hesitate to call Heal. at 407-300-5364 or Revival Chiropractic at 407.403.5567 to start your healing journey.

We are here for you!

“Once you truly understand that you are just beautiful energy wrapped in human form, your fear and “otherness” will disappear and you will experience deep belonging and fellowship.” – Radha Agrawal

If you feel as though your energy has been muted or your fire is dimmed, know that you don’t have to feel this way forever.

You see, our energy defines us and the people we surround ourselves with help shape our energy! Yes, everyone and anyone who you spend a lot of time with shapes your energy. Think about it, when you’re around that one friend that constantly is complaining about her job, relationship or other melodrama, don’t you sometimes go home completely depleted and lacking any energy?

Now on the other side of this, think about a friend that completely lights you up! They ooze positivity amidst the chaos of life, always emitting radiance and happiness because they’ve found that within themselves. Your conversations with each other bring you life – literally! The cloud that was once over your head following you around is now replaced by the sun as it beams down on you.

This is the feeling and type of energy you should actively surround yourself with.

It’s either energizing or completely depleting – you choose!

Our bodies are incredible. How we choose to take care of them is so important. Your “diet” is not just the foods you eat but also how much you sleep, how often you move your body and also who you allow into your energetic bubble.

You can think of energy through these different words – maybe they resonate with you better, maybe they don’t!

Vibration. Spark. Spirit. Attitude. Presence.

All of this to say that ENERGY is the most potent human attribute available to us and we need to pay closer attention to it.

“Energy is a great equalizer in life. It doesn’t matter what you do for a living or how much money you have – the energy YOU put out is the energy YOU get back! Negative energy breeds negative community. Positive energy breeds positive community. It is that simple”

Energy is the invisible backbone of our lives. It controls the way in which we perceive the world and how others perceive us! It quietly shapes our daily existence and it also controls our physical health! When we are stressed, hurt, angry or sad, we often become physically rigid. Our breath isn’t as slow and fluid and our bodies don’t heal as rapidly as normal because we are in this suffocating fight or flight response.

In order for our bodies to heal – physical, mental and even emotional bodies – we must do our best to stay energy positive in order to maintain relaxed muscles, easy breath, and calmer, happier lives.

Take a moment right here to gently tune in to your “Energetic Meter”.

Are you feeling as though your energy gas tank is on E? When was the last time you filled up your tank with nourishing, positive, healthy energy? When was the last time you relaxed? Are you eating well? What are you doing right now to energize yourself?

If you’re mind had a difficult time answering these questions or you feel as though you’re constantly giving and giving without receiving anything in return – it could mean that you’re due for an energetic reset.

Here at Heal. in Altamonte Springs we believe that you, yes you, are so capable of living your best life – day in and day out. When the weight of the world is on your shoulders however, that statement seems a little far fetched.

Just as your car needs frequent maintenance to keep on going and running smoothly, as do you!
You can’t expect to be living your life walking around on Empty! Why would you want to?

On the other side of stress there is a luscious green patch of self-care and self-kindness grass that is waiting for you. This radiant, abundant, joyful, open and healthy YOU that deserves to shine in the spotlight will finally be able to bloom and blossom.

If you’re looking to dive head first into your Energetic Reset journey, we’re here for you.

Know that we are always just one call away. If your body and mind are tired – yoga, massage, light and sound therapy, salt booth, CBD and meditation are all great tools that will assist in peeling away the layers of stress.

We look forward to relaxing with you!407-300-5364or send us an email at info@heal407.com

Do you wake up every day with a feeling of tension in your body that seems to get worse as the day goes on? Do you feel like you just can’t keep on top of everything you need to do, and you’re constantly “on edge” all the time?

If you answered “yes,” you’re not alone—everyone experiences stress and its associated symptoms from time to time, some of us more than others. The good news is that there are steps you can take to manage your symptoms naturally.

We all have special receptors called CB1 and CB2 that are part of the endocannabinoid system in our bodies. This system regulates functions that help to regulate appetite, mood, and even memory. Most of the receptors in this system are located in your brain and nervous system!

Even though CBD comes from the same place at THC, it doesn’t affect our brains in the same way – at least not directly! You won’t experience the psychoactive response that you would with THC.

Stress and pain are often connected. Cannabidiol can work in several ways to help reduce pain and stress simultaneously.

Knowing that stress and pain are often connected, Cannabidiol works in powerful ways to help reduce pain and stress at the same time.

With it being Stress Awareness month, we’re here to bring awareness to living in long-term state of stress can truly be so harmful to your health. Most people that experience chronic stress will come across issues with their immune system, digestive system and even cardiovascular system – are you starting to see how terrible stress can really be?!

Staying in the fight-or-flight mode for prolonged periods of time can actually cause cortisol to spike higher than normal and as it courses through our bodies, leaving traces of high inflammation and pain that exacerbate already existing health problems.

Everyone experiences stress from time to time, but some of us may not understand or recognize when it gets to the point where we need to seek help. Here are a few things to consider:

  • There are different types of stress and we all cope with stress differently.
  • Stress isn’t always bad! We can acknowledge some of it as good and use it as motivation!
  • Being stressed out does not mean you aren’t grateful. You might love your family or your job and still feel stress associated with these things.
  • Some of the most common triggers of serious stress are major events like the loss of a job, a breakup, a death, or an illness. Even the toughest or most relaxed person can be worn down by these life events.
  • War, assault, and natural disasters can also trigger temporary symptoms of severe PTSD and anxiety.

Here are some easy steps you can take to reduce your day-to-day stress:

  • Daily meditation. Just five or ten minutes a day can work wonders.
  • CBD oil. Regular doses of CBD oil can help improve stress and mood issues naturally.
  • Understand the source of your stress. When you know why you are stressed, you can take proper action to combat it.
  • Breathing exercises. Simply allowing yourself a timeout and taking deep breaths can lower your heart rate and help your brain “reset” fairly quickly when you’re feeling stressed.
  • Socialize! Social isolation can be a major contributor to stress.
  • Eat a balanced diet. Believe it or not, the food we eat can have a huge effect on our brains.
  • Limiting alcohol. Alcohol anxiety is a real problem, and it can happen whether you drink regularly or on occasion.

You can use CBD oil to bring a sense of peace and calm to relax you after a long day, and the best part is that it’s perfectly natural and non-addictive! In addition, all of Kat’s Naturals oils have been clinically tested for quality and safety.

Kat’s Natural’s RELAX and all of their other tinctures support restful sleep and ease the body and mind during times of stress.

Have a great day!

Hi friends! How are you feeling today? I want you to take a few seconds to pause, close your eyes and truly ask yourself “How am I feeling?” It’s easy for our thinking mind to override how we feel, but it’s just as important for you to be in tune with your feelings as they play a big role in your overall well-being.

Mental health issues can affect your energy levels due to the fact that your body is using prolonged energy to process emotions. These conditions worsen when you are not eating, hydrating and resting so please be sure you’re putting loving energy into your body to support you!

The benefits of yin yoga are endless. We take into consideration not only the postures themselves, but also the breath that is needed to tap into your parasympathetic nervous system! Your parasympathetic nervous system is also known as “rest and digest”. This system activates the more tranquil functions of the body; those that help maintain a healthy, long-term balance. It also helps to produce a state of equilibrium in the body! Yin yoga paired with specific breath exercises are what will take you away from the fight or flight response that you’re probably used to being in day in and day out.

Here at Heal. we have a structured approach to our yin yoga classes. As you may or may not know, all classes are geared towards beginners and practitioners of all levels. Here in Altamonte Springs we have such great yoga studios in the area where you can go to try out all those funky yoga postures and transitions but here at Heal. we bring you the basics.

Allow Heal. to be the yoga studio that doesn’t really feel like a “studio” per say, but more like your yoga home! The one and only full service holistic health and wellness center to cater to all types of bodies, stress levels and goals. We’re here for you!

Now onto the benefits of Yin Yoga….

  1. Yin yoga increases flexibility and mobility. In yin, we hold our postures anywhere from 1 minute all the way up to 5 minutes depending on which body part we are targeting and what our goal is. This deep practice works right into the connective tissue through longer holds and we have all the props you may need in order for this practice to be exactly what you need. There is hardly any effort in yin yoga aside from holding the posture in a relaxed state using bolsters, pillows and blocks with the help of your breathing.
  2. You can practice yin yoga ANYWHERE. Don’t think that you always have to drive up to Altamonte Springs in order to enjoy some YOU time. We make sure that the sequences we provide you can easily be done at home if you’re ever getting out of the office late or have to stay at home with the kids. Yin yoga is perfect for the busy stay-at-home parent and even the athlete that needs more flexibility, mobility and overall better posture!
  3. Yin fosters self-love. It’s no doubt that when we considered bringing Yin Yoga to Heal. in Altamonte Springs we intentionally knew it was the best way to have people start practicing self-care simply because it really is such an intimate, slow and gentle type of yoga to practice. Yin yoga forces you to slow down, take time for yourself to just BE. When else do you get to do that?
  4. Two words, stress-relief. As we touched on earlier, yin yoga paired with specific breathing exercises helps to shy away from the “fight or flight” response that we are in a majority of our day into a more calmer, serene state of being or as we like to call it “Rest and Digest” mode. Not only will you feel relaxed after class, but you’ll begin to notice that with a consistent practice your sleep becomes deeper and longer, your joints don’t squeak and crack as much as normal, the breath that you learn during class can be applied to your daily life and so much more. This is such a great step into taking your health back into your own hands.
  5. It teaches you to persevere. One thing that yin yoga has taught me and many others is that because we are so still in these longer periods of time, it forces us to really sit with how we’re feeling and doing on that given day. It shows us that no matter what, if we can just BREATHE through the discomfort of not talking or moving, we can essentially breathe through whatever mini challenges or obstacles may arrive OFF of our mat in our daily life.
  6. Yin yoga brings a meditative-like quality to your life. Whether you want to think of meditation as just sitting criss cross applesauce with your eyes closed and your hands on your knees for long periods of time or not; your yin yoga practice in itself IS meditative! How? Well, the definition of meditation is to focus on something on purpose. All that you’re focused on during yin is your breathing (3 count inhales… 5 count exhales), the posture you’re in, the stretch that you feel, the soft cooling air on your skin, the fabric touching your body, the sound of the instructors voice and so on and so on! See? Even just bringing awareness into all of those little missed details is meditation. If the idea of meditation scares you, perhaps taking a yin yoga class at Heal. in Altamonte Springs might be exactly what you need to start a mindful lifestyle!
  7. You get to know yourself. It’s just you, yourself and your body in yin. The outside world tends to dissolve and melt away when you are in those deeply meditative postures for long duration of time. It’s during your yin practice that you can press pause on your outside thoughts.. ask we call it “the monkey mind”.
  8. You get to work through those deep seated emotions. Not only is yin yoga great for your physical body, but it’s such a powerful way to heal anything you’re holding onto that you no longer need!! When you as deep as you can during yin, especially in the hips where most of us hold our tension, stress, anxiety, fear, trauma and more, you really start to feel those emotions you had pushed down for so long resurface. And that’s totally okay! Better out than in as I say. Heal. is a safe space for you to move through and feel whatever it is that YOU need for healing.
  9. The Yin “Afterglow” Effect. Yes, it’s real! You’ve gotta come in for a yin yoga class at Heal. to see what we mean! Let us know if you have any questions or would be interested in taking class.

We’ve got memberships and packages readily available for you to experience all the wonderful benefits of yoga, dry salt therapy and even massage! Give us a call at 407-300-5364 for more information! We can’t wait to have you in!

You are worthy of the ultimate happiness. You deserve it and should accept it. Promise me that you won’t feel guilty about it when you get it. Guilt is not invited to your happiness party – you won’t even tell him where it is. If he asks about it, you should be like “No, I think you’re thinking of something else…” and then run away very quickly.

We’ve been programmed to feel as though we don’t deserve what it is that we truly desire. Aside from wanting to manifest material things such as the latest car or a big home – when was the last time you sat down with yourself and asked “What do I want?”

Perhaps this question comes to you with some hesitance. Our subconscious mind is linked to referring back to past thought patterns and beliefs that we have grown up with, some being “I’m not good enough” or “this is too good to be true”, yet the reality of this is that these limiting beliefs about yourself and what your life CAN look like, are all here to show you where you have poured your energy out into other places, people or things that are no longer serving your highest good.

At times we feel as though if we just had that one last piece of the puzzle brought into our lives – whether it’s a relationship, a job, a vacation destination, a raise or promotion – we’d be at our ultimate happiness! Yet, when those things don’t manifest in your timing… or at all even, it can be frustrating, disappointing and even discouraging in some aspects.

So as you sit there – pouting and grumpy over the fact that the last piece of the puzzle was just out of arms reach – ask yourself, “what joy and bliss could have (insert said thing here) brought into my life that I’m apparently not experiencing right now?”

Yes, this is deep. Yes, this exercise will help you get to the bottom of it. Yes, this can bring up a ton of other questions but you have all the answers within.

At some point or another you’ll begin to realize that whether or not you have x,y or z in your life – you’ll always have yourself. You’ll always be able to rely on yourself for everything and anything! You are worthy of the life you desire only after you take back your power from expectations, toxic situations and anything else that is standing in the way between you and yourself.

At this point, you’re hopefully able to connect the dots and see that suddenly when you align with your truest nature… the things meant for you will always find you because it is your divine birth right to be happy! It is in your life blueprint, so to speak, to work towards becoming the healthiest and happiest YOU there there is.

Remember, there is only one You, and only You hold the power to make this life your best life. You are worthy because you are You. Your happiness and health is found inside of yourself above anything else. So next time you make a wish and it doesn’t come true according to your expectations – take a step back and see it as a gift. Perhaps something greater, something more aligned with who you are becoming or something that is going to sweep you off your feet is going to replace whatever it was that you had originally hoped for.

When you are in this place of finding your worth and joy within while sprinkling in some gratitude into the equation, you’ll begin to see that no matter what, life is always happening for you… not to you. So as your deepest wishes begin to come true, emotional fulfillment will reign through all aspects of your life and you’ll thank yourself for putting in the work to clear away the need to rely on external circumstances to bring you happiness.

Like a smart person once said… “the happiness you feel within is the icecream… and all the outer manifestations that you cultivate through positive thinking and gratitude are just the cherries on top,” – or maybe I just made that up. Either way, it’s true!

Happy healing!
until next week,
-Heal.

“You are meant to live an expansive, exhilarating, good-feeling experience. It was your plan when you made the decision to become focused in your physical body in this time-space reality. You were born knowing that you are a powerful Being; that you are good; that you are the creator of your experience, and that the Law of Attraction (the essence of that which is like unto itself, is drawn) is the basis of the Universe, and you knew it would serve you well. And so it has.”

Have you ever wondered why certain things happen the way that they do? Or why you feel the way that you do despite any external circumstances? Well the reality of it all is that YOU create your reality. You are in the driver seat and you have full control over what you will and won’t allow into your life. This means that those not-so-good experiences you have came across in life have on some level been manifested into your reality through your thoughts, both subconscious and conscious.

So what does that mean? Let’s take a situation such as traffic, a speeding ticket or even stubbing your toe as an example. If in your mind you are always feeling as though you never have enough time, or that you’re always having to rush to get to places or get things done, then the Universe will present to you things such as traffic or speeding tickets to remind you to take a few moments to slow down, breathe, and just be still.

It’s normal in this day to day life to always be in a rush or in a GO-GO-GO state of being, but in reality, wouldn’t you say that life feels better when you’re moving slow, taking your time with tasks and being fully present with whatever it is that you’re doing? Suddenly life will feel relaxed yet productive, as if your only duties are to be the best version of yourself as you accomplish all that is on your plate.

We want to remind you, as you read this, to figuratively “change the channel” any time that your brain goes into havoc mode. Begin to practice PRESENCE – noticing when your thoughts begin to drift back into older ways of thinking or when you fall into an old habit that doesn’t fit who you are anymore – then changing the channel to a positive thought such as gratitude for having good health or for having a roof over your head!

Remember, you are the attractor of your every experience – and so if you know you deserve to live in abundance, love and joy – wouldn’t your thoughts, intentions and actions reflect that?

Until next week!
-Heal.
