Understanding Reiki and our Nervous System

When I first began practicing Reiki in Altamonte Springs it was 2010.
Back then, a lot of people did not even know what Reiki was.
Truthfully, that was myself included!
When my friend first asked me to go to the Reiki Training, I had little familiarity with the practice. It was something I had only heard of in massage school, and when I heard about it, I rolled my eyes at the thought.
But, my curiosity always gets the best of me.
When my friend asked me to join her, I only went because I was earning CE hours and I needed those to renew my license.
When I left, my Reiki Training was as I expected, a complete waste of money…..or, so I thought.
That was 16 years ago and here I am today still sharing this practice. Heck, I even became a Reiki Master Teacher so I could teach Reiki in Altamonte Springs.
What I have witnessed through this practice (as well as other energy work modalities like Pure Bioenergy and Spinal Energetics) has allowed me to see just how important Reiki is to our energetic health.
Our nervous system works off of electrical impulses so it is wild to think that we would not need energy work.
When we begin to integrate energy work like Reiki into our healing journey, it is amazing how much lighter we feel.
Carrying old energy around is exhausting. It causes us to feel overwhelmed, tense and anxious.
All of that heavy, stagnant energy impedes the functioning of the nervous system. Impulses aren’t able to travel in the way that they should and we experience physical, emotional and mental symptoms because of it.
Your nervous system controls EVERYTHING, there is no way that the disruption of these impulses can’t impact all the different systems in your body.
Reiki helps to bring balance to the energetic body so that you can feel harmony in the mind and in the body. You don’t have to stay stuck in that cycle of fight or flight. Energy work may be exactly what you need to feel lighter and break out of the cycle of stress.
Your mind and body will thank you.
